Have just got back from a wonderful summer holiday with the children. Marvellous time watching seals on the beach, one morning we counted over 50 but the real surprise was the bike I found. The weather last week was very variable one day brilliant sunshine the next lashing with rain, on one of the first days of really hard rain which was at the start of our hols I popped into the local council dump having just jokingly said to my long suffering wife its about time I pulled a curly Hetchins off this site. As usual all the sports bikes were being heaved into the skips and only the mountain bikes where put aside for reselling. I saw the foreman and said if you get any racers in put them out and I will be back at the end of the week. This dump was very unusual in that they had very stringent Health & Safety rules and all metal objects had to be handed to a member of staff to be placed in the metal skips which were off limits to the public. I eventually went back on a very rainy day towards the end of our holiday and all I could see from a distance from behind the wire was this very mediocre looking racer standing against the skip and to cap it all it looked like it had a stoved in seat stay when it suddenly dawned it was a bleeding curly!. Well I walked very slowly and nonchantly back to the car where I had a HiViz jacket which I slipped on immediately to look like one of the employees and to gain entry to the metal skips and sure enough there was a Vade Mecum curly. There are still there to be found and who knows what other gems had been thrown into the metal containers. Don't bear thinking about!

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
