Harvey Sachs writes snip<Sometimes the perfect tool just isn't available. Like last night, when I wanted to install a NOS Weinmann brake lever on a bike. Darned band/clamp had the wrong shape to slide onto the handlebar. Too egg-shaped for the circular bar. Bending did not work. And then, I saw it: Older Japanese stem lying there, with nice wedge at the bottom instead of cone like the Italian stems. Voila! and Cello! slid the lever onto the stem, tightened the stem bolt a fair amount, and bingo the clamp decided to be circular. >end snip
Anyone remember the Park tool that was made for this job? I remember having to use it almost every day in the shop...
By the way, I'll be posting a list of attendees for the Interbike Koffee Klatch tomorrow. I've been waiting for confirmation from Interbike as to the early entry into the show...
