Kurt,

You scientific types need to get together with some people who really know how to do the job, and do some tests if you want some answers. As a fabricator, like Stradivarius, why would he select one piece of wood for an instrument and reject another? There are people who know things that are impossible to explain to others. These things come up after years of using various materials and becomming a master of one's craft. I can tell you that I will not use Tange, Reynolds 753, or Tru Temper tubing. Many love and accept these things, I do not. I do not like the way they feel when working with them. I don't like some of the properties of these materials. I feel the same way about stainless lugs. Sometimes when you ask a master of a craft a question, the answer is "because". I can not explain it beyond that.
