Well, I wasn't gonna bring it up, but....since I'm almost recovered from the sleep deprivation I suffered through this last week, along with the added indignity of the red eye flight from San Diego wendsday night, I can now recant this tidbit through my incohearentcy:

What I deceided to do after Velo Rendevouz, since I was in San Diego anyway, was to have my ears drilled out by Baylis. That's right; DRILLED OUT! That way I wouldn't ever wouldn't have to listen to Mikie Schmidt's SNORING again. EVER! So after taking the train down from La La land (L.A.), and then the trolley out to the Vintage Cycles Studio shop in El Cajon, I got into position (my head firmly mounted in the framebuilders vice mounted in the floor), underwent anistesia (ballpeen hammer to the knogin) and sometime later woke up to find that B.B. hadn't drilled out my eardrums after all, BUT instead drilled out my EARLOBS ! My EARLOBS for Christmas Christ's sake! He must have wanted me to look like some old Wizard of Chuck Schmidt's or the Bruce Gordon "Best Lugs" at the Velo 05 show!!! AAGGHHHHHH,.... now I look like E-Ritchie! Sally's not sure about the acending size ball bearings I've mounted in the holes, but Christmas is comming and think of the posibilities. After I showed her how to play "Schultz" ( thanks Brett. I think.), she sugested that maybe next year I should consider geting my forehead drilled to match. CLASSIC CONTENT: I just put the original gear cable for the Cyclo rear derailleur on the 1947 Camille Daudon. Now she shifts AND brakes! If there's no rain tommarow, I'll see how she rides. It's been at least 30 years since anyone did.

More reality on The Velo later,
