No big coups, but one that was very strategic.
I was 14, and had a good road bike, needed a track bike, used bikes were just not around, in SoCal 1974. Bike shop sold me a Bob Jackson track frameset and built it up as a complete bike on credit, I supplied the seatpost. I put down 1/3, paid the rest off in the next six months. Allowed me to train and race that season.
Not my favorite bike, probably could have done better on the bike and or price. But the timing made it a great deal.
