A look at the 85 Trek brochure on the vintage Trek site shows a 410 in the 85 brochure which is the bike I have. It would appear that the brakes were changed out on the eBuy Trek or else they ran out of black DiaCompes at the factory.

My mistake for using the frame build date as the model year. Thanks to Ed Granger for making me think.
