\r?\n> Hmmm. Well, I guess the question of ethics and the seller's integrity
\r?\n>
\r?\n> is easily answered by the question: "Would these hoods sell for $69.
\r?\n> -79. if the buyers knew that they were reproductions?"
\r?\n>
\r?\n> The seller, if these are in fact repop hoods, is attempting to
\r?\n> deceive
\r?\n> by purposeful omission and hoping by doing, that that buyers will
\r?\n> assume that the hoods are original and genuine and pay the inflated
\r?\n> price.
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Another question is, will the seller answer inquiries as to the hoods
\r?\n>
\r?\n> authenticity?
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Finally, how does anyone know the quality level if it's a
\r?\n> reproduction?
\r?\n> The Campy quality is certainly a known factor (For better or worse)
\r?\n> How
\r?\n> does one know that, after paying $80 pair, if they might melt away in
\r?\n> 6
\r?\n> weeks?

\r?\n> Obviously the seller, given the legal climate, couldn't explicitly
\r?\n>
\r?\n> state
\r?\n> that the hoods are repros or originals, just as the sellers of repro
\r?\n> decals
\r?\n> generally won't. They are what they are, take them or leave them. If
\r?\n> the
\r?\n> quality and the price are up to the buyer's standard and no one is
\r?\n> being
\r?\n> lied to I see no harm- particularly as Campagnolo have no interest in
\r?\n> servicing this market with their own product and their interests in
\r?\n> preventing their sale are strictly on the narrowest legalistic
\r?\n> copyright
\r?\n> issues that have nothing whatever to do with unfair competition in
\r?\n> the
\r?\n> marketplace. While perhaps illegal I see nothing unethical in it, the
\r?\n>
\r?\n> two o
\r?\n> f
\r?\n> course being only distantly related...
