The discussion about constructeurs, fattie tires and rolling resistance has me jonesing to get out on the randonneur bike again. Mine has 650A wheels, rather than 650Bs; it was built in '81 for cross country (and across the Pond) touring; the thought being that one could pick up a 26 x 1 3/8 tire in just about any hardware store in Anytown, USA. Problem is that it's tough to find tires in this size that run at higher pressures. I've currently got some tired old IRCs that run at 95psi; the closest I've found to that are Schwalbe Marathons, which are rated 45-85, I believe. Anybody out there got a good source for this now unpopular size, which I think originated as the consummate English 3-speed tire?
