Subject: [CR]WTB: pair of rusty, broken steel quill pedals

Does anyone have in their parts box a matched pair of old, rusty, broken quill pedals with steel cages? I'm looking for a pair of cheap, no-name, junk pedals so I can cut off the quills, modify and reshape them as needed, and then weld them onto the ends of my 1938 Torrington racing pedals as part of the restoration process before rechroming them. Somewhere along the line, the quills were cut or broken off my Torrington pedals; except for that, they're not in bad shape--worth restoring. (I remember cutting the quills of a pair of road pedals, myself, in the 1960s in order to increase pedal clearance in turns on my track bike; maybe the former owner of my Torrington pedals had the same idea. Too bad I didn't save those quills I cut off for the last 40+ years!) If you can help this worthy cause, please let me know how much for the pedals and how much to ship to Zip 22192.

After restoration, these pedals will go back on my '38 Schwinn Superior Racer, which is nearing completion (paint, decals, chrome, and wheels are done). I hope many of you will see the finished bike at Cirque next year. It will fit in nicely with the track bike theme.

Thanks,
