Subject: [CR]1969 Masi special for sale

Dear Listmembers,

I'm going to do something I almost never do. That is to sell on of my bi kes in my collection. It's one of my favorite bikes both as a piece of h istory and as a fine classic rider. The main reason for the sale is that I'm trying to raise some capital to buy some small machinery and tools to aid my manufacturing of parts and bike related bits. I can ride this bike quite well, but she is just a bit big for me. Perhaps someone who i s the correct height for this bike should take over the custodianship of this machine. Here are the particulars. This is NOT the 50cm 1962 Masi special that several people have expressed interest in owning, BTW.

55cm (actual c-t is 54.5cm), top tube 54.4 c-c,Italian Masi special from 1969. Columbus tubing throughout, Dubois Nervex lugs, 3 slots milled in BB shell underside. Original paint and decals (with Masi badge); the fr ame has been touched up to fix any rust and is not detectable and a coat of clear Imron applied to seal decals and paint, also undectable for th e most part. The paint is white with the read panel head tube and ST pan el, the classic Faema/Merckx paint scheme. The bike is very low miles an d was in quite excellent original condition when I got it except for a l ittle wear and a few small scratches in the paint, which I fixed. The cl ear was deteriorated and the decals were exposed, so I sealed it with Im ron which saved the petina of the original paint and perserved the bike forever. It can be safely and comfortablely riden this way. The parts ar e original (except for the shorter stem on it, which I can replace with a longer proper one) and correct for the bike and in good shape.

This bike is very dear to me and I don't want to sell her cheap. A turnk ey bike like this is difficult to come by and would probably be impossib le for me to replace. If I don't get a taker from the list, then I'll pu t it on eBay. Not sure if the Japanese buyers are interested in a bike t his size; but I suspect yes. They like Italian Masis with original paint very much from my observations of the past auctions.

I'm asking $4000 for the complete bike. Shipping additional. I have phot os of it. I can send them out but it might be easier if a lot of people want to see them for someone to put them up on a site. I don't know how or where to do that myself. It can be seen in the VR5 photos of the Masi display. It's the white and red one (the small one that's white and red , obviously).

I have to go to the shop today to work. I won't see my email until this evening. I'll deal with photos then. If someone wants to call and talk a bout it today, I will be at (619)449-5977 from 10am until whenever. Than ks for checking it out if you're interested.
