Hi Doug, You memory of Chirs Chance's original shop is correct.

The guy he shared space with was Dave Hartramft (sp?), an excellent painter. Dave believed in really thin coats, and was widely sought after as a painter and builder, although his output was pretty low.

Chris's road bikes were all one-off, and had cool details in either lug cutouts or sterling silver addons, like stars on the fork crown.

I had left Cambridge when he started Fat Chance, so I can't really explain what was going on, except that Fat Chance was always meant to be a higher production operation.
