The Carlton Donovan sub range of 5 models was indeed produced by Carlton at their Worksop factory. The models were the Nomad and Roamer, moderately priced and aimed at the novice rider, The Grand Prix, sold as a racing frame only, the Baracuda, and the Wanderlust, which despite its' name, was marketed as a massed start machine. The Wanderlust frame had Oscar Egg lugs, variable geometry according to the frame size, and was available in sizes 20" to 24". It was available as a frame only or as a complete machine. I assume Carlton were cashing in on Gerald Donovan's reputation as a good and successful designer.

Peter Brown, Lincolnshire, England, not a million miles away from Worksop, to where the Donovan should really be returned.
