I refuse to be assigned to any one of these groups, thank you.

It all depends on the bike that is in question. For some bikes I would cry murder if someone would part them out; other I couldn't give squat. Since it has been divined in numerous discussions on the List that we all have differing likes and dislikes (just imagine ebay prices if everyone of the 1200+ members lusted after a 56cm 70s Colnago Super). I, for one, had no qualms selling a 50th Anni. Colnago a few years back. For me, it is not that special. My Mondials on the other hand I kill for (there is a gorgeous deep red panto one sitting in my office while I write this. Hey, look, don't touch!).

So if you want to earn money, part out. I just did that to a Zeus; it worked. If you want a trophy wife; keep her and ride her when it's sunny and dry. If you want a bike to invite your buddies over and gloat; hey, do that, too.

Maybe next time Chuck will sell parts to finance his projects, ...
