The original colour was probably mauve, which was one of the standard options available, and it has faded over the last 55 years or so. Pics of the one I had refinished, but no longer in my possession, are at http://ntlworld.photobox.co.uk/album/1571123

. The Cyclo boss was original, just the pump pegs had to be replaced. Transfers were from Nick Tithecott, apart from the top tube La Queldas which I had made locally.

For those who may be interested, here are pics of my recently-acquired 1950 Holdsworth La Quelda "Flyer".

It's hard to tell from the pics, but the original paint (it's faded quite a bit) was a bright, pepto-bismol shade of pink (no, I'm not trying to resurect the pink-bike thread).

I will be doing a complete overhaul, but am on the fence about the paint. I am leaning towards leaving it as-is, but would welcome opinions from other CR members. For what it's worth, the head badge and transfers are mostly in very good shape.

Peter Brown, you should post the 1955 La Quelda pics you sent to me - it's a stunning repaint - one of the best color schemes I've ever seen!
