Just fit the two ends together, overlapping about5/16" or so.

I would abrade all surfaces first, and maybe stretch the chosen female end a bit to keep the inner (male) end from buckling. Use enough glue and get a good even application to the surfaces.

I seem to recall that some tubes will curl a bit when the glue hits them, so that might be another thing to deal with. If you secure (clamp) the tube to the adjacent tire casing on each side of the hole this might help keep the ends from pulling apart while drying.

\r?\n> i tried my hand at putting a new tube in an old tire. i cut the new tube,

\r?\n> taped the end shut, and then used brake housing as a "snake" to guide the

\r?\n> new tube through the tire. worked wonderfully.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> now the question becomes, how do i "put the tube back together?" i seem

\r?\n> to remember an old messenger pal saying that you could basically burn a

\r?\n> split tube back together with a lighter somehow. would that work here? i

\r?\n> tried a few basic patching ideas, but none of them held air.
