Ray, I think it stands for Diesel Engined Road Vehicle. That's because it is duty paid, unlike TVO which isn't. That's Tractor Vaporising Oil. Same stuff but you get visits from the excise man if you run your derv on it! Nigel Land Barton on Humber - where the old 1905 Elswick-Hopper Offices are being turned into luxury apartments. The penthouse suites give you a fine view of the Humber Bridge and I am hoping the developer will have space in the lobby for a couple of my on-topic Barton made bikes.

Diesel oil seems to work Ok for me. It's called DERV in the UK, I'm sure Mick will tell us why! A friend who worked for Leyland Motors swears by a 50-50 mix of DERV and Coca Cola as a release oil! Ray Green, Brighton, England
