"A Louison Bobet yellow jersey circa 1954, of the exhibition type allowed to be worn by reigning Tour de France champions in subsequent criteriums (city centre races) and velodrome events, short-sleeves with tricolour trim, zip-up collar, embroidered initials HD (for Henry Desgrange, the founder of the Tour de France), darned crash repairs to left-hand side and lower back; sold with a signed letter of authenticity from Jean Bobet (Louison's brother), and a signed letter of provenance from the present vendor (3)

"French cycling legend Louison Bobet (1925-1983) was the first person to win the Tour De France three times in succession and one of only eight riders to have won the Tour at least three times. Other honours in a glittering career include World Road Race Champion 1954, King of the Mountains 1950 & 1951, French National Road Race Champion 1950 & 1951, Criterium International Winner 1951 & 1952 and many other titles.
