Dear Mr. Stone, Many thanks for that informative reply but which side of the seat lug is the number placed, there still seems to be some confusion here, some say left you say right bit like politics. I would also thoroughly refute your statement that old man (FW) specialised in touring machines he made just as many if not more racing machines. He was the premier tandem maker for many years ( especially racing tandems) only rivalled by ROH pre-war. I will also disagree about the other bits you mentioned yow were clearly not riding or hostelling in the late 50's or early 60's with the DA's if you were it would be patently obvious to you that Selbach, Carpenter, GA, Chater-Lea, Merlin, Langsett, Stenton Gliders all produced as many tourers as Mr. Evans, in fact probably more as they were much large firms. These were the irons the older members rode in the 1960's. I would remind you that a lot of these lads riding in the 1920's had lost arms and hands in the Great War and prefered the relaxed angles of the many touring frames built back then. Your fraternally Frank. Still a wonderful magazine you produce a real credit to you. Many thanks left or right? Frank
