Subject: [CR]SPRING CLEANING TIME - Another Lengthy Post of Vintage Parts For Sale

Once again I am offering a gaggle of goodies to the CR list in advance of posting them for sale on eBay (...you are encouraged to check my feedback in that other forum under the seller id name "57103"). Pictures and descriptions of these various "For Sale" items (...along with those of a few other "off topic" bits and pieces) may be found posted to my Wool Jersey album at http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/For-Sale.

Please correspond directly through my public email address of rsb000@hotmail.com. All inquiries will be handled on a first come, first served basis. If you have any question as to whether an item is still available for sale, PLEASE CHECK FIRST WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED WOOL JERSEY GALLERY as I will be marking items as "SALE PENDING" when someone agrees to their purchase and then mark them as "SOLD" upon actual receipt of payment. All quoted prices do not include shipping and/or insurance which will be done at cost. I would be happy to aggregate shipping expenses on multiple items destined for the same physical mailing address where practicable. I accept payment by PayPal, BidPay, cashier's check, money order, well concealed cash (...mailed at your own risk), gold bullion, or diamonds and other precious gemstones (...sorry, no S&H Green Stamps, baseball trading cards, or highly prized marbles as I lost all of mine long ago). Your satisfaction is guaranteed to the extent that you are welcome to return all or part of any purchase for a full refund of monies not to include shipping and/or insurance provided that said merchandise is returned to me in a reasonably timely fashion and that it is in substantially the same condition as when I first sent it out to you (...please let me know in advance of your intentions should this prove to be the case).

I am happy to provide answers to the best of my abilities for whatever questions one might have regarding these items for sale. Please note, however, that even without the additional volume of messages generated through the CR list, I typically receive up to several hundred emails per day, so I am not always as prompt in my replies as I might care to be (...sorry, but I do have other priorities that require my attentions). So, without further adieu, list deux (...and koo-koo-ka-choo to you too)....

HANDLEBARS / STEMS

3ttt Record Competizione Superleggero handlebars - aluminum alloy with logo etching - traditional non-anatomic profile without cabling grooves - highly unusual F-B or French-Belgian bend profile (...not as fast forward or deep a drop as say a Gimondi bend and with a little more reach - a nice compromise between the more conventional TdF or Merckx profiles) - 26 mm clamp sizing - 40 cm O-t-O / 140 mm reach / 165 mm drop - model Superleggero (240 grams) - hands down the lightest traditional drop style racing handlebar available in the mid 1970's - [NOS in original packaging - even has the ephemeral 3ttt logo sticker still affixed] - $80.00

Pivo Professional handlebars - aluminum alloy with logo etching - traditional non-anatomic profile without cabling grooves - 25 mm French clamp sizing - 39 cm C-t-C / 115 mm reach / 170 mm drop - model Professional - [Used in very nice condition - definite marks from where the brake levers were attached and down along through the drops (...of course, these will all be covered from sight when the bars are re-wrapped unless you were looking to go for the Pista style half-wrap with no brakes, in which case these roadie bars would be a poor choice to start with) - exposed area near clamp bulge shows only faint markings] - $15.00

Pivo Professional stem - aluminum alloy - 22 mm quill - 25 mm French size clamp - 110 mm length - single bolt non-quick release - includes all original hardware - model Professional - [OEM usually in shorter lengths on many vintage 1960's and early 1970's French bikes including Gitane's TdF from that era - used in very good condition - minor insertion marks on the quill which could very easily be removed - typical less than perfect factory casting finish at its nose just above the clamp bolt (...although a perfectionist could carefully remove evidence of this with some detail handiwork - very hard to find with this length neck] - $15.00

HEADSETS

Stronglight Competition V4 - threaded headset complete without ball bearings (...just like when Stronglight sold them brand new) - 25 mm x 1 mm (25.4 TPI) French thread - case hardened - nickel chrome plated steel - [Used and in good to very good condition - minor chrome loss at edge of upper threaded cup - one small bit of chrome missing on both the upper fixed cup and lower crown race (...neither of these will affect performance or even be visible upon re-assembly) - headset top lock nut has been re-chromed - all races are very good showing only minor wear]- $35.00

Stronglight Competition model V4 - headset top lock nut - 25 mm x 1 mm (25.4 TPI) French thread - nickel chrome steel - model 303 - [NOS without packaging] - $20.00

Stronglight P3 extra-léger (extra light) - threaded headset complete without ball bearings (...just like when Stronglight sold them brand new) - 25 mm x 1 mm (25.4 TPI) French thread - case hardened - nickel chrome plated steel - includes two sets of upper threaded cups and lower fixed cups (...one pair circa late 1950's to mid 1960's and the other contemporary from the late 1960's through 1970's, so you can build this headset up according to your very specific restoration needs) - total weight only 120 grams - [Used but in such superb condition that it should be able to pass for NOS upon careful re-installation - chrome is near perfect without any signs of rusting, scratching, pitting, or flaking - no wrench marks from removal (...because I am VERY careful to use the proper tools, take my time, and do things right) - textured edges are unmarred - all races are excellent showing little if any wear] - $100.00

SEAT POSTS

Campagnolo Nuovo / Super Record seat post - one piece cast alloy - post 1973 fluted shaft - post 1977 one bolt adjustment clamp - 180 mm x 26.4 mm - model 0124061/70 - [NOS in original box] - $90.00

Campagnolo Nuovo / Super Record seat post - one piece cast alloy - post 1973 fluted shaft - post 1977 one bolt adjustment clamp - 130 mm x 26.4 mm - model 0124061/70 - [Very Good used condition in original box - light insertion marks extend downward from 3/4 inch above the limit line - those above the limit line can very easily be polished out] - $40.00

Campagnolo Nuovo / Super Record seat post adjustment bolts and pivot nuts - pre 1978 for two bolt adjustment style clamp - chrome plated steel - two each of models 700 pivot nut and 703 adjusting bolt - [Used in good condition - a speck of chrome is missing from one of the round pivot nuts - touch it up with paint to prevent onset of rust knowing that upon installation that spot is completely hidden from view anyway] - $3.00 for the four piece paired set

Gipiemme seat post - one piece cast alloy - single bolt micro-adjusting clamp - 285 mm x 26.4 mm - model H-92 - [NOS without packaging - this is far and away the longest vintage seat post I ever found in this diameter - perfect for long legged types wanting to elevate the saddle height on their favorite French frame having Reynolds metric sized tubing] - $20.00

BRAKES

MAFAC Racer complete brakeset - includes calipers with pads, bolts, transverse cables, yokes, hangers, levers, hoods (white), front and rear shielded brake cables (white housing) - dual pivot center pull alloy calipers - early style with logo etched into face of leading arm of the caliper and no wheel guides - fixed bridge - large stirrup (53.5 mm - 68 mm drop) long reach - model Racer - [NOS in original box] - $40.00

MAFAC brake pads - black - standard four pad design - suitable for use with MAFAC Top 63, Raid, Tiger, Dural Forge, Racer, Competition, GT, or 2000 calipers - complete set of four for both front and rear calipers - [NOS without packaging - still supple and guaranteed to squeal like the proverbial protected witness if used in conjunction with steel rims - 7 sets of 4 available] - $5.00 per set of 4 / $20 for 5 sets of 4

Campagnolo Record brake levers with hoods - non-aero cable routing - alloy bodies - pre 1974 "long reach" alloy levers - marked "BREV CAMP" on the cable pivot pins - includes handlebar strap clamps marked "BREV. CAMPAGNOLO" - genuine pre 1984 "World Logo" Campagnolo gum hoods - model 2030 - [Used and in fairly good condition - minor evidence of a "lean to" marking on one of the levers (...please see close up detail photograph) but absolutely NO "road rash" - hoods are still reasonably supple but with a decided patina begot of age and use - slight discoloration on the inside of one hood with a small split at the very top where the brake cable enters which I have repaired with Loctite Prism 406 (… I have had great results with this type of repair in the past) - the other hood has one mark toward its underside from where a stainless cable housing from the bar cons shifters abraded it at that spot - both hoods have been conditioned with lanolin - my suggestion would be use them "as is" because I offer ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE that you can remove these hoods and replace them onto another set of brake levers without ruining them in the process] - $50.00 for the pair

Campagnolo brake cable clips - top tube mount - stainless steel versions - perfect for post 1973 restorations or other bikes where practical considerations outweigh the need for originality in the form of early chrome plated clips that are prone to rust - mounting hardware included - model 649 - [NOS set of three in original packaging] - $10.00

Brake adjuster barrel "O" rings - suitable replacements for use with vintage Campagnolo Nuovo / Super Record brakesets - these are NOT Campy OEM parts but they are virtually indistinguishable from same by all but the most astute cognoscenti - brake adjuster barrel shown for demonstrative purposes only and is NOT included within the scope of this offer (...duh!) - [New without packaging - 3 sets of matched pairs available] - $2.50 per pair

CRANKSET PARTS

Campagnolo Record crank arms - post 1968 144 mm BCD - pre 1973 without any date code reference / marked only "172.5 STRADA" - 172.5 mm alloy arms - 9/16 x 20 TPI pedal thread - 22 mm x 1 mm threading for cover plates - one matched pair - model 751 (drive-side) and 752 (non-drive-side) - the perfect finishing touch for that vintage road racer - [Used in good condition - both arms exhibit typical light rubbing on their outer facings - very minor markings on the non-drive-side above the BB hole and on both arms at their ends underneath the respective pedal holes (...though no evidence of "pedal strike" from something like having been "grounded" through a corner on a Crit course - but then why would you use 172.5 for that type of racing anyway?) - typical "halo" around the pedal holes from mounting pedals without the penefit of protective washers - use "as is" or invest somewhere between $50 and $75 (...not including S&H) to have a shop strip them of their finish, polish them to perfection, and then re-apply an anodized clear coat, and these babies should come out looking almost like new (...except for that "halo" at the pedal holes which will be obscured anyway once you re-mount a pair of pedals) - if you need to know who does this kind of work, ask me off list - excellent pedal threads - BB interface is still nice and tight - no cracks] - $60.00
