'60 - '61 is about right for the Unica's. I think the first ones were with the Unica swivel and flat rail seat and post original set up. About a year later the standard rail ones were in production. I think it was '61 when I put one on my bike and I still have and use the seat on my current road machine. It's one of the most comfortable seats I've ridden and see no reason to change it. The younger guys and gals don't know how to deal with it when they see it and suspect it came from the Inquisition. Except now with the new out of time line carbon super lite saddles that riders are surprised to find out how comfortable they are now, I think I'll tell them mine is one of the original prototypes and was 45 years in development. Love to tweak the new breed equipment climbers. Ted Ernst Palos Verdes Estates, Ca
