Not only does that show little to no sand-casting roughness, it also shows file marks! It's not obsessively filed but it is definitely worked over. Paint thin enough to show file marks wouldn't hide that sand casting roughness, you would see it in the photo for sure.

The +GF+ is much deeper than the roughness - you can file all the roughness off without removing the GF.
