I purchased a PX-10 from a former winner of the U.S. Nationals. This guy broke his knee cap doing something outside of cycling. Any how, when I went to get the bike he handed me a spare set of old Record cranks--one being a 172.5mm and the other a 165mm. I asked why the mismatched set and he pointed to the bicycle (PX-10) which had the sister cranks to each of the aforementioned. He told me in order to "get back on the bike" his Physical Therapist recommended the shorter crank for the leg that needed healing.
