Doland, no bash taken - but realize my motivations for wanting an ASC hub are:

* I already have 2 'pure' fixed wheel bikes to enjoy in my 'bike dungeon'

* I appreciate the difference, and will always have a pure fixed * * * I would like to equip my 1955 Mercian Road and Path with something that is:

* period correct * * appropriate for the frames intended use * * * Finally, I would certainly prefer to pay in the range you suggest, but reality is such that I choose to either pay what the current 'market value' is, or I go without! So far, I'm taking the latter position.

Cheers,

Fraser Cunningham.
