Jay,

That is very rare, the 74mm BB lasted only for a very short time.

I've seen Bianchi, Masi, and Cinelli with 74mm BB shells. Your two

bikes aren't track, are they? I don't think they ever used 74mm BB's

on track bikes, that would be stupid. The whole point of the narrower

BB shell is to allow more clearance for the pedals on the track.

Maybe so, but once you got done facing those old sand-cast BB shells, they were down to 65mm... :-)
