Just to confirm from this side of the pond that CC stands for Cycling Club and RC for Road Club There is also BC for Bicycle Club and 'A and CC' for Athletics and Cycling Club. If none of those suited the founding members they could always call themselves Wheelers, like Manchester and my own club Barton - which I have traced back to 1880.

RC = Roads Club as I remember. Not necesarily road racing, could be touring ot time trial oriented.
