bruce, here's an earlier post of mine about celmins http://search.bikelist.org/getmsg.asp?Filename=classicrendezvous.10504.0955.eml

a little more detail: mike was known mostly for his touring frames, and the folks i've seen riding them (and chased down to ask about them) have been effusive in their praise of them.

i'm happy to answer any other questions i can.

regards,

Aparently a privious owner had a seat tube stuck in the frame and tried to get it out with a reciprocating saw. Not a bad start but he/she did not section the seat tube thouroughly and then it was hammered down to bind against the water bottle braze-on inserts. Now that is bad enough but the former heavy-handed workmanship must have left an embarrasing signature as there is a blob of painted bondo under the seat tube lug and I have yet to apply paint stripper to examine the extent of damage.
