In answer to Fred:

Ely Samoucha was one of the big importers of racing bikes in the 70's. He carried Bertin and Zeus and possibly Centurion. He closed his shop in the early 80's to entered politics. Ely Samoucha can be reached at eli230253@hotmail.com. I'm sure he would be happy to talk about his "Glory Days" (and accept donations to one of his many "projects" ;-).

More interestingly, the Le Jeune dealer from the 70's is still around and still working:

Albert Buzaglo Ofer Sport Hadera Herbert Samuel 88 04-633-7570 (no email)

He has 3 mid-range 70's Le-Jeunes in his display window. Albert is in his 70's and rides to work every day. Not much business, but it keeps him busy.

He came from Morocco in the 50's with his cousin's the Ohayouns. They were a racing family that dominated the racing scene here in the 50's and 60's. One of the Ohayouns was in the Rome Olympics.

The Olympic Ohayoun can still be seen on the road. He rides a modern bike donated to him by the "Matzman" bike shop, Israel's oldest bike dealer. He's broke and living on Social Security, but a proud man and one tough cookie.
