Hi, John---

Well said, but the "broadcast" days of appealing to everybody via vehicles like Life, Look, and the Saturday Evening Post are gone and "narrowcasting" has replaced it. VBQ, no matter how broadly it tries to cast its net, is still a MICROBREW, appealing to a certain, "narrow niche" yet intensely-loyal audience. You need to keep your base which is your bread and butter and not try to be all things to all people. Otherwise you risk "genericizing" yourself.-----------

Of course CONTENT is, in the long run, more important than the name, and I don't think Jan is pulling a 180 in that department. I'm not saying the name doen't work, but it does sound somewhat generic to me, as Paul Cooley pointed out.

Be that as it may, I wish Jan and his publication all the best. After being a bicycle-shop purchaser of single VBQ issues, my wife is giving me a subscription for my birthday!

Cheerio,
