Jan, My 1955 Torpado has rifling in the Columbus steerer tube, so it's been around for quite a while.

Question regarding Cinelli forks...

Is there a way of determining the age of a Cinelli Supercorsa fork? All I can see so far is that around 1970, holes in the stiffener tangs on the inside of the blades appeared.

Questions: - Did the Campagnolo dropouts change in any way between 1955 and 1970? - When did the rifling on Columbus steerer tubes appear? - Any other potential identifying marks?

The question is whether a fork is original to a frame or whether it was replaced for a newer fork at some point... -- Jan Heine Editor Bicycle Quarterly 140 Lakeside Ave #C Seattle WA 98122 http://www.bikequarterly.com
