Subject: [CR]single-speed cyclocross, pics, track ends?

list- so i'm thinking a lot of cyclocross these days, and of course am wondering about the 30s, 40s, and 50s of the sport. nowadays, some KOF builders are building ss specific cyclocross bikes with track ends. was that the case during the olden days as well, or were cyclocross bikes back then fitted with horizontal dropouts? a mix of both?

i'm thinking also of t. hayes' early 1950s allin, which is a single speed, track ends, with eyelets and cantis. is it possible that this, in fact, could be a cyclocross specific bike? sounds like it, and looks like it. but then again, i know that a single bike served many, many purposes then. path racer, cyclocross, and commuter. pics at http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/hayesbikes/album233/album232/DSCF0012.jpg.html

does anybody have any detailed pictures of (on topic, of course) cyclocross bikes? or, better yet, are there any avid collectors on the list that are cyclocross specific? i know aldo has posted some cyclocross stuff in the past as the pic of the day, but i'd like to see some more!
