Another very enjoyable VR event has come to a close. We had a great time, reuniting with our SoCal friends and meeting new friends. Hats off to David Benson who attended VR after participating in L' Eroica and now hes on his way home to New Zealand. The bikes that were on display on Sunday were superlative. My quick favorites were the BIANCHIs!!! they were represented from the 30s to the 70s. Incredible examples with Campagnolo Cambio Corsa, Paris-Roubaix (and pre P-R single lever) Gran Sport to Super Record. Next, the 30s Legnano (Tams?). Of the new production frames with traditional influences, my favorite is Rob Robersons Masi Special- it was awesome! And I'd love to have one. Brian Baylis frames are absolutely the gold standard in worksmanship paint and graphics. His individuality, attention to detail and color selection is truly outstanding. I've missed alot of bikes I'm sure (got in late last night and just took the kids to school). Most of all I want to thank Chuck and Sherry for putting this all together, without your dedication, this would never happen.
