Subject: [CR]Zieleman and a dodgy crank arm

Listers,

After what seems like a 20 year search (actually only the last 5 years) I finally took posession of a Ko Zieleman Type Special frame and fork. The frame shows the usual patina of a bike that is 20+ years old, and was ridden hard. Lots of paint chips, scuffs, rubs etc. I personally think it gives the bike personality and since there is no apparent rust I'm in no great hurry to repaint. I'm going to bring it to David Cheakis at Southwestern frameworks (who painted my Pogliaghi Pista) and discuss touchup options with him. As for the dodgy crank, here is my dilemma. The left side arm has a crank bolt washer absolutely jammed in it. It looks like the previous owner used a crankpuller without removing the washer. Does anyone have any recommendations on getting it out? The crankarm is fairly trashed (overtightened pedals, lots of scuffs) so preservation isn't a huge issue.

thanks in advance for any insights offered.
