Subject: [CR]To build or not to build that is the question

Following on from all the previous comments I have my own story to relate as to whether I rebuild or not!

Just awhile ago I advertised a list of spares on the listing and the reason I gave was that I had decided to cease restoring any more bikes in the future and be content with the ones I have. Well things do take a twist when we least expect it and any planning or good intentions suddenly go astray. So what happened you may ask, I will devulge all!

Last Sunday a chap turned up at my home and delivered a 1953 Claud Butler " Allrounder" frame set complete with its centre pull Mafac brakes . It happened to be the same frame I had swopped with collegue several years ago and here was I being offered it back again. It had been kept in perfect condition with the paintwork good as new , no chips or scratches , I thought who should be so lucky!

Well folks what would you do in these unusual circumstances. I wonder?.

With all my good intentions to cease rebuilding suddenly went completely out the window! . Here was a frame begging to be rebuilt and become a future machine for me to ride. So the end of the story , yes its being restored and already halfway to been completed. As for the spares I mentioned they are mostly all sold and ready to be shipped to their new owners and to reassure them I wo'nt be using their purchases on this lastest project!. My thanks to all those who inquired.
