I used to convert my Suntour freewheel into a 2 speed for flat time trials. The early first 3 slid on but the 2 smallest were threaded. Juniors were limited to 93.6" (52-15) so I removed the inner 3 cogs and ran the 15 and 16. Set the derailleur stop and you're off. Oh yes, I removed the front derailleur and inner ring also.
