Joe Gardin was in Mississauga, I think he was first generation from Italy, his frames were initially all made in Italy IIRC, and then later there were also Japanese made frames available at the lower end of the line. I don't recall if they ever made frames at the Gardin shop or just did the builds. A 1983 Gardin like Ian Fraser's would have been made in Italy for sure. A buddy of mine painted frames for Gardin (in Mississauga) for a couple years mid 80's.

We had a big party here in Ottawa for Gord's retirement back on Dec 2nd. It was great fun with lots of folks who rode with Gord. Pics and all here:
