Yes, I've been to MIlan and most of Italy..and would assume that if Eddy had spent as much time as we are led to believe he did at De Rosa's workshops, then it would be a reasonable assumptiojn that he would know what type of frame he would have needed for any give stage, climb, time-trial etc in the vicinity.
I was just putting forward a "worst case". ...or..a "mission almost but perhaps not impossible" type of scenario.
