hi, these are Honking handles for the purpose you state, but also used on fixed wheel bikes where only a front brake was used and the cyclist rode on the hoods. willie carton from a more spring like COLERAINE N. IRELAND

I have in my posession a pair of aluminum knobs with handlebar clamps and gum rubber hoods that read "Dia-Compe." I suppose that they are dummy brake lever bodies? hoods? for tandem stokers, but what exactly are they called? I assume that these are on-topic, but only cause they look so "non-ergonomic."

Would one of you kind folks please help fill this gap in my cycling vocabulary?

Oh yeah, a link to an image might help.
