Hi CR folks,

I'm thinking that I want to update the Mike Kone's Used bike price guide sooner rather than later. I do have a nifty domain name chosen for the new website, and I could perhaps get a preliminary updated version up on the web perhaps by month's end. Eventually there may be a fee for accessing some pricing information, but I think that the updated version of the guide will be made available as an ongoing freebie. There may be a "market intelligence" and some other super spiffy add-on that may be by annual subscription, but the guide itself in present (although updated) form will remain available for public viewing (but not copying - that is a copyright no-no).

So - what I'm hoping is that if folks would like to contribute, I'd love to get input as to what makes are currently missing that are needed (I have a boatload to add on my own anyway) and if you like - I'd love to get info on bike sales in the last year or so - sale info should include make, model, size, and any major info that is otherwise important (i.e crack in downtube, or I really do have a photo of Eddy Merckx riding this exact bike and a letter from him as documentation).

Again, since I'm asking for public help, that means that the inital body of information I build with this help needs to be made available on the site as a freebie. (Cause I sure as heck wouldn't want to provide info and then have to pay for it latter!)

I hope this all makes sense!

Thanks again!
Mike Kone in Boulder CO

\r?\n> Glad to hear folks like the old price guide I wrote years ago.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I'm actually planning an update to coincide with another vintage bike project

\r?\n> I'm working on. It will reside on a new website that is under development that

\r?\n> will have some other nifty features.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I'm not sure exactly what the timeline for completion is - but maybe I can get a

\r?\n> beta version up with just the updated price guide in 30-60 days.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> If anyone has other questions about the update's timing, feel free to email me

\r?\n> on or off list.
