Hi John,

I've used Presta Stem Savers made by Wheels Manufacturing

http://www.wheelsmfg.com/products.php?cat=access&prod=prestastemsaver

on several bikes, and they've worked fine. To be extra sure that the rubber of the tube doesn't touch any sharp edges, I also do one or both of the following:

- Use Velox adhesive cloth rim strips with Presta-sized valve holes and carefully center the valve hole in each strip over the hole in the Stem Saver

- Make small leather washers by cutting up the tongue of an old shoe and punching them with a hand-held hole punch for binder paper - the one I have makes holes that are exactly the diameter of Presta valves - and put the washers over the valve stems before installation.
