if i recall correctly, the stronglight spindle taper is ever-so slightly different (shallower, if i remember correctly) than everything else. the ta taper is faily similar to campy/shimano etc. if ive got this right, mounting stronglight cranks on ta spindles would mushroom them out ever so slightly, making them not useful on stronglight spindles in the future, and ta cranks on stronglight spindles would be ever so slightly floppy.
