(I am copying this to the whole list, I hope that's OK with Phil, so everyone can benefit from this explaination...)

Hi Phil:

Yes, I have had to write a few other off list notes lately too! :)

<< The line between old made products, newer materials, revised products (like Rivendell ratchet shifters), and new models from old companies was somewhat unclear.>>

The key is the year 1983. If the part bike or whatever is newer than that, it's either Off topic or "Keeper of the Flame" which means made like and in the style & tradition of old stuff. Actually I think Rivendell rachet shifters are possibly Off topic and haven't seen them discussed on this list lately (but I could have missed it...)

In the CR rules (http://www.classicrendezvous.com/CR_list_rules.htm) it says:

" 15. While the CR focus is on the beginning of the Twentieth century to 1983, a few contemporary, classically made small workshop bikes are considered on topic* here These are generally referred to as "KOF" (see # 2 above) but those welded, injection molded, or glued modern wonders belong in some other mail list. Ditto for mountain bikes, "middle weights", BMX, recumbents and balloon tired bikes. Those bikes have merit, but they just do not belong on the Classic Rendezvous. Ditto for components that are post 1983 or those which are harbingers of a new, aesthetically "modern" era (like cycle computers, clipless pedals, index shifting, etc.) If in doubt of the appropriateness of your intended topic, ask the web master first! "

I admit there are still some areas that are a bit fuzzy but in general it's pretty easy to figure out.. And if uyou are unsure, the last line says pretty clearly what you should do!

Dale, It was on an old bike and Campy is an old rd. And I've seen recent manufactured items for sale frequently. It was chosen for safety in the streets riding my vintage bike, so it was in preservation of my old bike and my old self as well. The line between old made products, newer materials, revised products (like Rivendell ratchet shifters), and new models from old companies was somewhat unclear. Forgive my error in judgement, but you have so many kind experts and did not know the fine line of rules. I looked at the rules and didn't specifically see this case mentioned. I'll know better next time. Thanks Kindly, Phil Bailey Sarasota, FL

That's Off topic old buddy... In fact, doncha think it's sort of ironic asking a vintage preservation group about putting new stuff on an old frame? Adulteration in some eyes, no?

Hanger for 2006 Campy Centaur short cage to 1971 Raleigh Supercourse with IRD 5 speed freewheel 122.5 rear fork spacing (IRD has 5mm center to center sprockets).

Can anyone help me find a hanger the above? I currently have a Suntour 5 speed freewheel with old mid grade rd (see photos).
