Answered a newspaper small ad in ca. 1992 for an "Opel Renngestell" which in German sounds a little like a very fast bedstead. I enquired if it was a car or what, and raced off to the address given in our half
packed car (we were leaving for holidays in France that day) when told
it was a bicycle, and a good story came with it. I then paid 20 Marks for an (incomplete) ca. 1928 Opel ZR 3 that indeed did have history. Closest thing to a Confente in the German collectors´ scene. The house
it had been stored in for 50+ years was being demolished as I carted the bike off.
