Well, I might have told this once or twice before, but my garage sale "win" was a very rough and not quite complete Davis Sewing Machines of Dayton triplet, 23"x23"x23", 96" fixed gear. Way oversized tubing, fully lugged, with forged steel cotterless cranks. About 1898, thank you. Garage sale in upstate NY, during a GEAR rally. First spotted by my friend Mel Kornbluh, now proprietor of Tandems East, Inc. We showed up at 0700 Sunday am, and the owner was in no mood for negotiation, so we paid his price, which was nominal. I collected all the parts needed, with help from some collectors and friends, and was fortunate that the Crillion Museum in Dayton OH decided they wanted it, that Mr. Huffman of Huffy bikes sponsored the purchase, and that some fantastic volunteers did a fabulous job of restoring it for the museum. Davis was a precursor company that got folded into Huffy.

I had bit of more than I could chew in hoping I could do the restoration myself.
