One more time I have to miss Tom's ride! Rats!!! Unfortunately, ;^) I'll still be in Florida in the WARM temps having just finished Bike Florida on my Raleigh Pro (classic content), seven WARM days of riding in March. Speaking of which, will there be any other CR folks doing this ride? It's a flat one, but it'll get a jump start on the season.

And Tom, I'll save that quote: "... but I've got a puritanical streak that says suffering is good for the soul." when I host our vintage ride North of Baltimore in July, hopefully during the mountain stages of the Tour. The local racers roar up and down the hills around Parkton, but some people (me for one) like to have some kind of bailout gear.

And I did my first training ride yesterday, abreviated by rain, where I nearly died with my 42x26 low shaking down the Raleigh Pro. Wish I could make it to Tom's ride too.

Well, after a very long stretch of dreary weather in this new year, today's riding conditions were excellent. Beloved Spouse and I did a nice 20 miles, and I'm glad to see that my vigorous winter training regimen, where I only gained 15 pounds and what little muscle I had turned to jello ... So since I'm already in tip top shape it's time to kick off the official CR Jersey riding season with our traditional Sandy Hook Lighthouse ride.

We meet on March 25 at 7 President's Park in Long Branch, NJ. ... Very limited sag/support on this one, this is designed to be a self supported/run what ya brung ride. Fenders are often useful, wool is common and chilly tootsies endemic. But maybe this year the sun will shine and temps will be balmy. We can only hope.

... Filthy weather probably cancels, but I've got a puritanical streak that says suffering is good for the soul. Remember, the record low attendance is two riders. We should be able to beat that!
