This discussion of weatherproofing saddles reminded me of a German product called Maroquin-Lederbalsam, used by museums and professional restorers, that was described positively months ago in CR. At the time the writer couldn't find a source for it. I put it on a eBay search then with no results to date. I found their website in German:

http://www.maroquin.de/balsam.html

Lederbalsam 9,00 Euros for 250 ml

eMail: marion.v.d.wense@gmx.de

Anyone had any experience with this product? I have a rock hard Ideale 80 I’d like to try it on before I toss it. LEXOL doesn’t faze it. It seems to have petrified if that’s possible.
