The tag from the shop was wrong. The box was marked (printed) 27 inch from the factory and it was correct. Circumference was 84.8 inches. Divide that by pi and it works out to 26.99 inches. The other Contis I have measure 87.9 inches. You may wonder why I recall the circumference. I don't really know, my mind just works that way sometimes. Perhaps because the situation ticked me off and I feared I was out the money for the tires as I bought them at a very good price at the swap. AFAICT the tires had not been removed from the boxes prior to me removing them.

I was able to return them and get some Dedas that do fit. They are tight also, but they do go on. I just wonder what those tubies were supposed to fit.
