The Raleigh Special Bike Unit would finish a frame any way you wanted it. The team replica finish seems to be the most popular these days and a number that originally had other finishes have been refinished that way. I don't see any reason to doubt the originality of this bike on ebay -- it will be interesting to see what it sells for (if it sells).
