I also would like to add my thanks to Tom & Christine for co-leading today's ride. I'm still not sure where they were carrying the cookies that appeared at the halfway point (Sandy Hook Lighthouse) and I might be better off not knowing.

This was my first contact in person with CR members and it was great being able to connect faces with some of the names I see on the list. Everyone was great and welcoming. Although the bikes were great, the people were better.

With assistance from the archives (right Chuck!), I glued the tubulars on my wheels with 24 hours to spare, allowing the glue to set. After 35 years on clinchers this was my first experience with them. Later in the day I went and bought some citrus solvent to get the stuff off my hands! One of the Via Bike guys said peanut butter also works well as a hand cleaner for tubular cement. In any case I had a great time on my now complete 1974 Serotta and had a good excuse to pull out my old Protogs wool ls jersey and tights.

To celebrate the occasion, and since it appears it will be a while until I can get a wooljersey account, I put photos of today's ride on Flickr. I apologize to all whose names I forgot or got wrong. I have a terrible memory for names although somehow I can usually remember the bike. Go figure. Here is the link:
