Subject: [CR]Campy cable routing

I'm puting together my 1972 Schwinn Paramout, recently repainted by Waterford, and have a cable routing question. The Paramount has a bolt-on bottom bracket cable guide. There are three sections, a short front guide, a middle tab and a longer guide that leads the cable up to the front derailleur. The question is the middle tab. Does the cable go over it or under it.

On my 1972 Eisentraut, which I assembled myself, I had routed the cable over the tab. And it seems to work fine (or I haven't noticed any problem for 35 years...). Anyway I guess this is a somewhat theoretical question but what is the correct routing?
