For what it's worth (and that ain't much), Mr. Price and the ebay seller (the garage-sale buyer), should both be very glad that item is only worth 4-8 grand. If it was worth more, they might both get sued.
As it is, the item itself is probably not worth the money you'd spend hiring lawyers to take a swing at it in civil court.
Why can't I help thinking that the ebay seller walked away with more money than the BIN price? Would you care to elaborate on that point, John? I'm curious, nothing more.
Did he give it back for what he paid (giving up 4 grand or so in the proces...the bike was worth at least that much), or did you have to pay him fair value to get it back?
If he gave it back for what he paid originally, you are the luckiest dude this side of Milano, is all I can say.
